  1. mission sounds fun :) will offer to do the beta-testing.
  2. well, its definite now: we're going to bavaria, so i will NOT BE ABLE TO BE THERE in that ARMA event. i wish you good luck and good aim ;)
  3. i got informed of the possibility of us (confused master and me) visiting our aunt in bavaria, so we might not be there for the arma-event. i will definitely inform you, if that should be the occasion.
  4. sign me in too. WONT do a FTL, but Fireteammember will be fine.
  5. SemlerPDX =VG= LAN_WROTE ... I was a little put off at the contant requests to communicate in game positions via Global Map Markers - every time I would communicate my position, or request a positional update, I was not met with 6 digits of coordinates, but a long wait, followed by "Can you see the mark?" "No, I can't" "Okay, I'll place it again in global channel". A real mood breaker - remember players, these systems don't exist in ACE - and we will only be training in ACRE as a standalone for so long before combining the two. Get used to map grids now. This is akin to learning how to shoot a rifle, but handing the weapon to "Daddy" each time you need to reload it. I died when moving up to the initial front lines of the second town, Electro. I caught a bullet straight in the head, one of many coming from under a small cement wall towards a Fire Team that was not watching their angles while moving up. I saw way too many guns pointed in the same direction when these groups were moving. Use your STHud to tell formation, and direction of domination of your team. Choose a direction others aren't watching! yes, it breaks the mood... we were attacked by an enemy who was hidden behind a bush shooting underneath a wall... as i didnt know that such possible fire locations even existed, i wasnt looking for such positions and soon got hit too. also 3 of the 4 players are more experienced in jungle missions than in urban missions (played vietcong for years). we are willing to learn how to do urban warfare.
  6. i have no more details to report on that mission. communication went well and i agree with calv that waiting at the beginning was cruel. when we were sitting and waiting and it was already 19:00 GMT and only 6 people (me included) were there, i really thought about playing something different that evening. i'm glad most people still came, even if late. we should also keep up some more training. like when my fireteamleader murderface got shot, charry tried to revive him and got shot too. then i tried sending out an emergency call on the other fireteam-channels.
  7. i suggest having a training event for australian time and one for europe/america just to make sure everyone can attend at least once. also i want to be there, but i havent seen any date and time for the trainign yet.
  8. =VG= Eclipse002 LAN_WROTE ... not yet...need more training in ARMA2. Not that i dont know what im doing...we need more training in "being a squad". More training on comms. More training on weapons...bullet drop..zeroing. More training on gear. indeed. its a good idea, but its not the right time yet. and as lupago said, we should first setup a few standards that work in every team, no matter who's in that team. i know there will be procedures we cant just copy and paste from real military, but we should orient on those. like we have some real veterans here and could possibly make some traing sessions in "Comms" "weapon adjustment" "moving in formation" "tactics" that way we can even easier introduce new members later. those who played in that fashion for a while can be fireteamleaders and every fireteam gets one new member maximum to teach them how it should work. but that includes no branded fireteams with neverchanging members, but the basic training for all members of the whole community, so they are interchangeable.
  9. at 1200 GMT+1 i got a phone call by a friend who invited me to a medieval market. after having been to the market, we played Xbox 360 kinect sports and forgot the time. i was back home at 2400 GMT+1. so i couldnt be on this mission. reporting back for disciplinary punishment. on a sidenote: he is an afghanistan veteran and i told him about this event and he was interested in joining the upcoming events and would be grateful to help by leading training missions (communication, giving proper orders, moving in formation) and assist mission builders.
  10. well, i got sixupdater to run and now there is such a file, now i hope it will work. i still wrote a complaint to the devs of ACE for not having any non-SU version anywhere to download.
  11. "include file userconfig\ace\ace_clientside_config.hpp not found." anyone know how to fix that? edit: sixupdater suddenly works and i installed the mods. hope to see you then :)
  12. mods installed :) testing soon and if it works (as i hope) i will be in :)
  13. i would love to, but sixupdater doesnt work for me. its spoiled like everything sickboy ever made.
  14. yes, please do a black hawk down style mission in fallujah, it will be unbelievable great :)
  15. also: thanks to airborne for the great tactics guide. i read it (well, i skipped one part i already knew) and its a good guideline for new players.
  16. i dont know if the mission was too hard for that tiny army we were, or did we just have to realize our incapability of working as a team?. i suggest both is the case :D also i thought it would be best if ARMA-veterans would lead teams, as they know whats possible and what isnt. i'm new to the game and wouldnt even try to lead a team in ARMA, but others have played the game for years and are skilled. also the roles of every single team weren't clear enough. like we had to go for that small village, but noone told us which way we were supposed to take there... lack of communication and maybe each team wanted to be the best one and headed forward too fast.
  17. fireteam 3: we regrouped after the jump, then moved along the railway towards kamenka, there we observed the area and went around the northern end of the town to secure it. 2 of our team got killed when the enemy suddenly came from the north and got us in the open without cover.
  18. just bought armaX and will definitely be there, please sign me up.
  19. SavageCDN =VG= LAN_WROTE ... Pirate if you have the time OA is one of the prizes available in the arcade.. you'll just need to beat the high score :) i already tried, but i got two left hands in those games ;-) so i'm really far from beating any high-score...
  20. i'd like to be there, will buy OA soon. GMT+1 1800 or later.
  21. Renainn =VG= LAN_WROTE ... The issue with KVM switches is that they are too expensive for what I need and those that use USB have the same issue of straight USB switches. Windows will re-detech the hardware everytime it is switched on and want to reinstall drivers. i know that problem, because i have it with my webcam.
